| | Large Henna Painted Candle Holder (Morocco)
The art of henna tattooing, or Mendhi, is an old tradition used generally for celebrating events or marking rituals. Henna is also used extensively in Morocco to decorate stretched animal skin lamps.
A small group of Moroccan artisans in Marrakech have come up with a totally fresh and unique spin on Moroccan henna decoration. These candle holders are molded from dense paraffin wax and then hand painted with traditional Moroccan Berber designs in henna. Simply place an appropriately sized candle, a tea light or votive (preferably within a glass votive holder) inside to create a mysterious, warm glow. When used properly, the candle holder will last indefinitely. Candle not included.
