The art of henna tattooing, or Mendhi, is an old tradition used generally for celebrating events or marking rituals. The art of applying henna to skins serving as the shades for lamps on iron frames, as an artwork, is a relatively new tradition, but has been perfected by the skilled artisans of Morocco.
Chose Style A (on left), which must be hung on a wall and features orange and red natural dyes and henna design, or choose Style B (on right), which can either be hung on a wall or placed on a surface, featuring red natural dyes and henna design.
Wrought iron frame with skin shade. Light fixture NOT included – this sconce is to be used with a pre-existing fixture. Maximum recommended wattage for bulbs used in our henna lamps is 10-20 watts. Each piece is hand-made, so individual designs vary slightly.
