| | Snail Henna Lamp (Morocco)
The art of henna tattooing, or Mendhi, is an old tradition used generally for celebrating events or marking rituals. The art of applying henna to skins serving as the shades for lamps on iron frames, as an artwork, is a relatively new tradition, but has been perfected by the skilled artisans of Morocco.
These henna lamps take on a modern twist to the classic henna lamp shape, incorporating a snail-like twist. The large (Style A) and small (Style C) come in vibrant red and the medium (Style B) comes un-dyed. This page, Style B.
Wrought iron frame with skin shade. Light fixture included. Maximum recommended wattage for bulbs used in our henna lamps is 10-20 watts. Each piece is hand-made, so individual designs vary slightly.
